Archived trip from old website run by Melanie Stamell

An evening for mountain biking enthusiasts to gather together, eat FREE pizza, share stories and - MOST IMPORTANTLY - pool ideas regarding the new ANUMC MOUNTAIN BIKING GUIDING PRINCIPLES document.

The Mountain Biking Guiding Principles document will consist of a set of principles that mtbing trip leaders will need to follow in order to run mtb trips associated with the club. We want this to be a reasonable, non-prescriptive and USEFUL document that beginner and experienced trip leaders alike can follow to ensure that their trips run smoothly and safely (even when something goes wrong).

Example items up for discussion:
Risk Management: None needed! You'd have to be an idiot to hurt yourself mountain biking.
Activities include: Hardcore Night Riding - NO LIGHTS!!!!
Maximum leader to beginner mountain biker ratio: 1:20? Sound reasonable to me...

What do you think? If you're remotely interested in MTBing with the club, come and contribute to the discussion at THE DUXTON, 6:30 PM, September 2nd.
