This trip is part of Jimbo's Ultra-Rad Coast Safari, if you want to come on this walk you also need to sign up to JURCS.
The Kangarutha Track, in Bournda National Park, takes walkers from Tathra south to near Wallagoot Gap. The hiking route has scenic coastal views and birdwatching, picnicking and swimming opportunities along the way.

The track is about 8.8 km which could take us 4-5 hours, including a stop for lunch. The walk requires no previous bushwalking experience, but parts of the walk are very steep. There is no bush-bashing as the whole walk is along a trail. There will be a total climb of 453m (but not all at once!).




We will start the walk at Kianinny Boat Ramp (just outside of Tathra). We will follow the signposted path south along the Kangarutha walking track, stopping for lunch somewhere along the way. We intend to walk the whole length of the track, ending at Wallagoot gap.

Returning: Depending on the number of available cars, we may end the walk at the car park found at the end of Wallagoot Lake Rd, off the Sapphire Coast Drive. Alternatively, if no cars are available for us to leave at the end of the walk, we may cross Wallagoot gap and walk along the beach to our campsite (this will add time to the trip). This detail will be decided at the pre-trip meeting.
