Archived trip from old website run by Jen_B

For those looking for a more relaxed way to get out in the snow - this is the trip for you. Suitable for fit beginners who know how to keep themselves warm and comfortable in the snow (or are willing to learn quickly!)

The plan is to leave Canberra at 6:30am to drive to Cabramurra (Australia's highest altitude town, inhabited by Snowy Hydro workers). There are some little-known Nordic trails starting at an (almost 5 star) Nordic shelter just outside the town. Check out the trails here: http://www.environment.nsw.gov.au/resources/parks/southern/Kosciuszko_National_Park/2KosiGuide2012Winter.pdf

If the weather forecast is bad, we may need to change plans or cancel the trip altogether.

Please confirm whether you have a vehicle you can bring along (especially if 4WD/AWD, as Cabramurra as right at the end of the snow plough route and we'll need snow chains for 2WD's). I will provide a gear list closer to the trip.
