Mt Gudgenby Day Walk

This walk climbs one of Namadgi's most majestic mountains, Mt Gudgenby. It will be a reasonably long walk (just over 20km), the majority off track (following a goat track with some bush bashing). The views will make it all worthwhile!

To take part in the walk you will need a reasonable level of fitness, be comfortable with bush bashing and be comfortable with rock scrambling (required on the approach to the summit.)

To start with we will follow the Old Boboyan Road from the Boboyan Pines/Yankee Hat car park, through the now felled pine plantation to a goat track

leading up a tributary of Bogong creek to a saddle on the south east side of the mountain. From there we will make our ascent to the summit of Mount Gudgenby (1739m).

Our return trip will follow a similar route.

To bring: lunch, snacks, 2lts of water, wet weather gear, warm clothing, sturdy shoes/walking boots, gaiters or other adequate leg protection for the bush bashing sections of the walk.

Departure time: meet at 6:50am for a 7am departure from the ANU SRA
