That said if you want to alpine ski you'll still need to hire skis boot and poles ($50) and if you want to do a proper lesson you'll need to add that ($45).

The clubs telemark gear can be used at Selwyn but the AT gear is for back country trips only.

We'll leave Canberra at 6am and return around 7pm. 

Bring water, sunscreen, gloves, sunglasses or goggles, snacks and warm clothes for before and after (a spare pair of gloves is always great). You can hire water proof jacket, pants and a limited number of gloves from the gear store.  There is also food available there (not cheap). Generally bring and wear merino, fleece or polypropylene clothing and not cotton.
