Mt Gingera (1857m) is one of several peaks that make up the Brindabella Range on the western edge of the ACT.  The summit has some of the best views in the Australian Alps, including, in opposite directions, of Canberra and a distant Mt Kosciuszko.  The easy way up the mountain is from the Mt Ginini car park along Mt Franklin Road to Pryors Hut and then onto the summit of Mt Gingera. This time, I feel like taking the longer, more interesting route from Corin Dam up Stockyard Spur and then on to Pryors Hut. This involves a 21km round trip, with 1100m of elevation gain. While its long, its also all on track and mostly easy going except for the first 2km which involves a steep 600m climb from Corin Dam and the final steep climb of 200m to the summit. This makes it reasonable suitable for any fit walker.  Wildflowers and snow gums abound on this walk and it’s common to see wedge-tailed eagles soaring on the thermal air currents above the mountain.
