Macquarie Pass canyon is a good training canyon which incorporates abseiling, waterfalls and a small degree of swift water. We will divide into two smaller groups. The more experienced participants will mutually lead the first group, which will be followed by the second group comprising the less experienced participants.

We will start from Clover Hill Rd, follow the Macquarie Rivulet and finish at Cascade Falls Parking

The plan is to head out on Saturday evening, camp at the nearby carpark and do Macquarie Pass Canyon early Sunday morning. 

Experienced participants will practice:

- Group supervision

- Anchor setup (lowerable, recoverable system)

 

Less experienced participants will practice abseiling in swift water and negotiating canyon obstacles.

 

Required equipment is as per the Canyoning Guiding Principles. I will organise group gear.
