Archived trip from old website run by Steven Lade

Constraints lead to creativity! If it weren't for the bushfire closures, I wouldn't look at this part of Namadgi for doing a longer hike.

The plan: Drive to Shanahans Mountain carpark in southern Namadgi. Set up a car shuffle with the end point. Take the tourist track up to Shanahans Mountain. Follow Booth Range north along the top of the ridge; there is no track marked on the map though something is visible on recent satellite images. We follow this all the way to Booths Hill, then descend steeply to the west down to Brandy Hill Fire Trail; follow this back to Boboyan Rd near the Yankee Hat turnoff. Reverse the car shuffle and drive home!

Distance will be around 18km with most of it off track (or at least off marked track) and a lot of up and down along the ridge. I haven't been here before so I don't know how thick the bush will be!
