Want to help me test out my roping skills?
Every few years I need to recertify my roping skills for work. On this trip I will have to lead a small crew and demonstrate supervision and rescue procedures to a testing officer.
As well as acting as my crew, participants will get to see me demonstrate (hopefully successfully) assisted abseiling, lowering, hauling and pick-off rescues.
The plan is to meet at ANU Sport at 0815 and head to Ginninderra Falls for multi-pitch abseiling.
Participants will need:
- Helmet
- Harness
- 3 lockable carabiners
- 1 non-lockable carabiner
- 1 x 120cm sling
- Water and snacks
I will organise the group gear.
Travel from ANU Sport to Sheperd's Lookout Car Park on Stockdill Drive. We will then walk to Gininderra Falls to conduct abseil drills.
