Archived trip from old website run by Thomas Veit

G'day mineral fondlers,

I'm looking to see who's keen to head for the Blue Mountains 11-13 June noting many of you have exams around then.

This trip will go live if we get enough takers/co-leads/cars.

Preface: This trip is for intermediate to advanced climbers. Please do not sign up to this trip if you haven't climbed outdoors with ANUMC before.

This trip will be heading to Mt. Wilson and will focus on climbing Bell Supercrag and maybe Dam Cliffs:

Bell is one of the biggest and bestest crags in the blueys with some 174 routes, 22 of which are grade 16-20. It also has quite a few climbs which stay dry if it rains.

Dam Cliffs has 45 routes graded 10-20 and a pretty good deep water solo option if the weather is good.

If we get a very experienced crew, we may hit up some of the big multi-pitch climbs at Pierce's Pass.

The trip will follow this itinerary:

9 June 5pm: Pre-trip meeting at the gear store.

10 June 4pm: Meet at the ANU gym. load up the cars and head to Cathedral Reserve camp ground at Mt. Wilson (Note: camping is free and doesn't need to be booked. There are toilets and fire pits and water but NO SHOWERS).

11-13 June: Climb at Bell. Weather depending we may head to Damcliffes

13 June 4pm: Drive back to ANU gym (arrival approx. 8-9pm)

You will need to source (via gear store or otherwise):
