It is a strict trad crag in a remote destination and we’ll be camping far away from the car so you’ll need to be self-sufficient with trad climbing and hiking/camping.

Plan is to leave from Canberra Saturday early morning (7:30 am) to drive to Charlotte Pass. Hike in ~1.5hr and set up camp. Climb Saturday and Sunday, leave from blue lake late Sunday afternoon and drive back to ACT.

Gear list: (Non-exhaustive)

Camping gear:

• Tent (Can be shared)
• Sleeping bag
• Sleeping mat
• Cooking equipment (Lighter, gas stove, gas, pot set, utensils etc.)
• Head torch + spare batteries
• Shoes for hiking in (Waterproof recommended)
• Gaiters (possibly optional)
• Big hiking pack (>40L) to put everything in
• Sunglasses
• Sunscreen
• Hat
• Clothing for all condition (Cold, warm, wet etc.)
• Insect repellent
• Water bottles
• Water filter/purifier
• Food for the weekend
• 1 PLB for the group
• *Small poop bags and a rigid container/sacrifical drg bags for human waste

*There is no bathroom once we leave the carpark! It is recommended to carry it out instead of digging holes.

Climbing gear:

• 1 trad rack and 1 climbing rope between 2 person
• Helmet
• Harness
• Climbing shoes
• Belay device, chalk etc.

Gear store access is likely limited over summer - if you need to hire any gear you might have to get in touch with one of the gear room officers. 

There will be no pre-trip as participants are expected to be self-sufficient with trad climbing and overnight hiking. However feel free to ask me any questions and I'll keep everyone in the loop with group chat/email etc.

• Climbing experience: including approximate grade trad leading/seconding and anything else you want to let me know.
